DETAILS OF TEACHING AT THE UNIVERSITY LEVEL

1.            Undergraduate Teaching:

 Teaching undergraduate medical students in Haematology from 1981-85 as a Resident/Senior Registrar at University Hospital Ibadan in Haematology and from 1988 till date teaching as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the College of Medicine teaching haematology including relevant molecular biology techniques     

2.            Postgraduate Teaching (1988 till present):

(i)           Teaching Haematology to Post-Graduate Residents at the University College Ibadan and preparing them for the fellowship examination in Part I and Part II of the West African College of Physicians and National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria.

(ii)          Teaching MSc. Haematology courses including related molecular biology techniques (1988 to date).

(iii)         Supervision of Post Graduate Student project for the Fellowship of Post Graduate Medical College and the MSc students University of Ibadan.

I have supervised and co-supervised 4 MSc. Projects in Haematology as well as 4 Fellowship projects of the WACP and NPMC.

1.            Agranulocytosis and Aplastic anaemia amongst Hospital patients in the University College Hospital, Ibadan

2.            Immunological parameters in Nigerians with Sickle Cell anaemia.

3.            Occular changes in Nigerians with Sickle Cell disease (with Dr. Yinka Ashaye –of the Department of Ophthalmology).

4.            Liver, kidney and brain changes in Nigerians with Sickle Cell disease (with Doctor E.E.U. Akang of the Department of Histopathology.

5.            Chromosomal changes in Oncology patients (with Prof. Dayo Ejiwunmi of the Department of Anatomy – Ogun State University)

(a)       Intracellular localisation of calcium using Fura 2 in patients with haematological disease:  Haemoglobinopathy, Non – Hodgkins Lymphoma Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (with Prof. E.A. Bababunmi and Mr. Bolaji of the Postgraduate Institute for Medical Research and Training).
