Biography:

ABIODUN OLUDOTUN ADEYINKA (MBBS, FWACS, FMCR, MD, FNAMed) born on 19th December 1957 is a Professor of Radiology, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria and Clinical Consultant Radiologist, University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria.

Admitted to study medicine in the University of Ibadan in 1977 and graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1982. His Internship was at the University College Hospital, Ibadan (1982-1983). Started his Residency training program in Radiology at UCH, Ibadan in January 1985 and subsequently obtained his Fellowship in both the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) and West African College of Surgeons (WACS) in April 1989, Doctor of Medicine Degree (MD) (2021) and Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Medicine (FNAMed) 2021. He subsequently joined the Department of Radiology, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan in May 1990 as Lecturer 1 and was subsequently promoted to the rank of Professor of Radiology in 2011.

Prof. Adeyinka’s area of interest is in Neuro-radiology and Interventional Radiology, with expertise in Clinical Ultrasonography, MRI and CT Imaging. Has additional training in Diagnostic Vascular Imaging at the Royal London Hospital, UK. Co-investigator and primary supervisor of the NIH FUNDED D43 Multidisciplinary NeuroAIDS Training Program titled “Comparative Brain CT Perfusion Parameters in HIV patients with and without Neurocognitive impairment in Ibadan Nigeria”. Co-investigator on the NIH funded research projects, including Comparative Community-Based Epidemiology Study of Alzheimer’s Disease among African-American and Yoruba-Nigerians, and also an NIH support Grant for a Northwestern University Chicago –University of Ibadan Stroke Imaging Project. (4R25NS080949).

His research activities include 61 Publications in learned Local and International journals.

Prof Adeyinka was the Chairman and Chief Examiner of the Faculty of Radiology Postgraduate training program (2012-2016) and currently and examiner in the Faculty of Radiology of both the National Postgraduate Medical College, Nigeria and West African College of Surgeons. He was twice a Board Member of the West African College of Surgeons and Board of Health, University of Ibadan and currently a Member of the Governing Council of the Lead City University, Ibadan, Nigeria

 He is also involved in the Mentorship program for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in the Department of Radiology. A Reviewer of Articles/Journals including, African Journal of Medicine and Medical Sciences, West African Journal of Medicine, National Postgraduate Medical Journal and an Associate Editor, West African Journal of Ultrasound.

His hobbies include Sports, movies and Socializing
