 Brief Biography:

Omoyemi Olubunmi Ogwumike is presently an Associate Professor of Physiotherapy and a Specialist Adviser/Honorary Consultant in the University College Hospital Ibadan, Nigeria. She obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. Degrees in Physiology; University of Ibadan in 1991 and 1995 respectively and began her University teaching career in The Department of Physiology, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences Olabisi Onabanjo University formerly Ogun-State University, Ago-Iwoye. After completion of her Ph.D. Degree (Orthopeadics, Sports and Recreational Physiotherapy) in November 2007, she joined the services of the University of Ibadan in 2008 and became a Lecturer 1 in November, 2010. Her area of research interest is Geriatrics and Community Physiotherapy particularly Exercise Therapy for Womens' Health Promotion. She has over the years served in various capacities in the department of Physiotherapy and the University of Ibadan as: Coordinator of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes in teaching, examinations and outside postings; Departmental Representative on the Quality Assurance Committee; Assistant Hall Warden, Alexander Brown Hall; a Representative of the Congregation on the Senate of University of Ibadan; Acting Sub-Dean Postgraduate of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine. She is a member of many professional societies both local and international including: Association of Clinical and Academic Physiotherapists of Nigeria (ACAPN); Society for the Study of Pain, Nigeria (SSPN); European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS); International Society for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM); The McKenzie Institute, United States of America, American Physical Therapy Association-Section on Women’s Health (APTA-SOWH). She has made effective contributions to the society in such ways as by serving as; member, Sports Medicine Team on the Splash FM/ICPC Integrity Marathon Race; External examiner Obafemi Awolowo University and Bayero University Kano, Nigeria; School of Health Sciences, University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, Durban South Africa and School of Graduate Studies, School of Rehabilitation Therapy, Queens University Kingston, Ontario Canada. She is a reviewer of many local and international journals. She is currently the Ag. Head, Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine University of Ibadan. She is happily married to Prof Fidelis Obioma Ogwumike of the Faculty of Economics University of Ibadan and they are blessed with adorable children
