PROFESSOR OYEDUNNNI ARULOGUN BECOMES THE FIRST FEMALE UNIVERSITY ORATOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN

Professor Oyedunni Sola Arulogun BEd, MEd, MPH, Ph.D., a distinguished health promotion and education specialist, has achieved yet another remarkable milestone as she assumes the position of the first female University Orator of the 75 year old Premier University, the University of Ibadan. This achievement further solidifies her trailblazing career and her invaluable contributions to academia.

Professor Arulogun's impressive academic journey is adorned with numerous accolades and an extensive list of qualifications. In addition to her foundational academic degrees, she has received training at renowned institutions such as the Margaret Sanger Institute in South Africa, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the Galilee International Management Institute in Israel, and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, USA. Her commitment to continuous learning and professional development is evident in her association with esteemed organizations like the Speech Pathology and Audiology Association of Nigeria (SPAAN), the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP), and the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE). Professor Arulogun's expertise is further recognized through her licensure as a Licentiate of the Nigerian Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board. She holds fellowships with the Royal Society of Public Health in the UK, the African Institute of Public Health, and the Institute of Classical Entrepreneurship in Nigeria.

At the University of Ibadan, Professor Arulogun has contributed significantly in various capacities. She has served as the Coordinator of the MPH (Population and Reproductive Health Education) Programme, demonstrating her dedication to shaping the future of public health professionals. She has also held leadership positions such as Chair of the Faculty of Public Health Committee on timely completion of MPH courses and Chair of the Faculty of Public Health Committee on Faculty Staff Parking Space. Additionally, Professor Arulogun has been involved in university-wide initiatives, including her membership in the University Committee on Development of Quality Assurance Policy. Her exemplary leadership qualities were recognized when she served as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Public Health from 2014 to 2016.

Professor Arulogun was appointed the Chairperson of the Oyo State Advisory Committee on Neglected Tropical Diseases (OYSACON) in 2016, as a testament to her remarkable achievements, demonstrating her commitment to community health and well-being outside of her commitments in the university and academic environment.
