Biography:

Professor Samuel Olusegun Ogunlade graduated with MBBS degree from College of Medicine, University of Ibadan in June, 1980. He had his housemanship in University College Hospital, Ibadan from July 1980 to June 1981 and was posted to old River State for the 1-year mandatory National Youth Service Scheme in July 1981 to June 1982.

He commenced his surgical training in University College Hospital, Ibadan in 1985 and passed final fellowship examination of the West African College of Surgeons. The training in Orthopaedic Surgery started in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda, Ireland in 1990, but later moved to United Kingdom commencing orthopaedic training in Cumberland infirmary, Carlisle. He was appointed to a Registrar in position Orthopaedic in the Northern Region Health Authority, Newcastle. Upon Tyne and rotated through six hospitals including Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle Upon Tyne (University Teaching Hospital). 

Upon completion of orthopaedic training; he returned to Nigeria to take up the position of lecturer in the College of Medicine, University College Hospital in 1996.

He was promoted professor of surgery October 2010. He has held many administrative positions in the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan and University College Hospital.

He has been a co-supervisor for 7 Ph.D. students. He has published widely in local and International Journals.

He is a fellow Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburg and registered with Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and General Medical Council, London. He is a member of many learned societies.
