The Ibadan Medical Specialists Group (IMSG) is a United Kingdom (UK) registered charitable organisation founded in 1995 by a group of UK-based medical graduates of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (CoMUI).
According to its constitution, the primary objective of the organisation is to “To advance undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental education by offering resources and support to the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria.” More information about the IMSG and its activities and achievements are available at https://www.imsg-uk.org/
The IMSG raises funds in various ways including member subscriptions and specific fund-raising events such as this one which took place on 25 March 2023.This year’s event was held in a suite at the Old Trafford, cricket ground in Manchester.
This charitable fundraising dinner was in aid of the IMSG scholarship programme for underprivileged undergraduate medical students at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan.
IMSG members and over 160 guests gathered to have an evening of fun, fine dining, and dancing. An exciting raffle draw on the day raised additional funds.
The guest of honour on the day was Professor Olayinka Omigbodun, Provost of the College of Medicine University of Ibadan. Other august guests included Professor Emmanuel Otolorin, President of Ibadan College of Medicine Alumni Association (ICOMAA), Emeritus Professor Oluwole Akande, Pioneer Provost of the College and Professor Akinyinka Omigbodun, a past Provost of CoMUI.
