Ibadan College of Medicine Alumni Association North America Set to Hold on June 23, 2023

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Ibadan College of Medicine Alumni Association - North America (ICOMAA-NA) is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the prestigious New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square, New York. The event is expected to bring together a distinguished group of attendees, including high-ranking officials from the Ibadan College of Medicine, the University College Hospital, the leadership of ICOMAA-WW, and representatives from all ICOMAA chapters worldwide.

The 2023 Distinguished Alumnus Lecturer is Dr. Kola Olofinboba – MBBS, MBA, graduating Class of 1989 from the University of Ibadan. Professor Kunle Akinboboye MBBS 1984 and Dr. Adeyinka Akinboboye BDS, DDS, MPH, FICOI, BDS1987 are sponsors of this AGM.

A focus of the AGM will be the progress report on the ongoing construction work for the students' hostel at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan being spearheaded by ICOMAA WW. This ambitious project aims to provide a dedicated residential facility with 664 bedspaces for students, offering a conducive living environment, and fostering a sense of community.

The event will highlight the advancements made in the construction project, reflecting the dedication and collaborative efforts of all stakeholders involved. The report will provide insights into crucial aspects such as site selection, architectural design, ongoing construction updates, safety compliance, and sustainability considerations.

Furthermore, the AGM will shed light on the Alumni Hostel Fund, which is financing the construction project. Attendees will receive updates on the fundraising endeavours and the significant contributions made by the alumni community towards the realization of the hostel project.

The AGM serves as the premier annual event of ICOMAA-NA, providing an exceptional opportunity for alumni to come together, celebrate their shared experiences, and demonstrate unwavering support for their alma mater. It fosters a sense of community and allows attendees to reconnect, exchange ideas, and strengthen their commitment to the growth and development of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan.
