You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Biography: Tunde Ogunrinde: FWACS, BDS (Ibadan) Dr Tunde Joshua Ogunrinde graduated with BDS degree from University of Ibadan in 1995. He had his residency training in Restorative Dentistry (Prosthodontics) in the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria and obtained the fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons in April 2009. He was appointed Hospital consultant in the department of Restorative Dentistry, Lagos state University teaching Hospital in 2019. He joined the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Ibadan in September 2010 as Lecturer 1. He was promoted to the grade of senior Lecturer in October 1, 2015. He has published over 40 articles in local and international journals. He was the acting Head of Department of Restorative Dentistry from Dec 1, 2019 to July 31, 2022. Area of specialization: Majority of Dr Ogunrinde publications are in the field of removable prosthodontics (removable partial, complete and maxillofacial prosthodontics). He studied the knowledge of consequences of edentulism, impact of edentuslism on quality of life and pattern of partially edentulous arches in a Nigeria population. The impact of acrylic denture on quality of life of edentulous patients was studied by his team for the first time in Nigeria despite being the most common material used for denture fabrication. The impact of the major connector components of metallic dentures was also studied and dentures with lingual bar was preferred to dentures with lingual plate by partially edentulous patients. He also, with his research team compared clinical performance of acrylic denture with flexible denture in partial and complete denture patients. Also, acrylic obturator was compared with obturator lined with silicone lining material in patients with post maxillectomy defects. Denture induced oral mucosa lesions was also studied as source of negative impact and mucosa ulceration was reported to be the commonest form of denture induced mucosa lesions. 1.
