1.      An Assessment of housing status in a typical Nigerian town

Knowledge of the general medical practitioners about common ear, nose and throat diseases in Ibadan.

The study is to determine if there is a need to advocate for continuous medical education for the general practitioners in the subspecialty of Otorhinolaryngology by determining their limitations. The trained research assistants are on the field collecting data.

Harmful health care practices among patients attending ear, nose, and throat clinic in University College Hospital, Ibadan.

This study is to determine if the routine health education/ health talk giving  at outpatient clinic of Otorhinolaryngology, has impact on the health practice of the patient’s and the use of medications for self-care. Data collection is going on at the outpatient clinic of department of Otorhinolaryngology.

Modes of treatment of ear conditions in a community in South West Nigeria.  This is a community based study. To determine if there are harmful health practices in the care of ear diseases and to advocate for change in practice among the populace. Data is been collected in selected communities with the help of trained research assistants.

Impact of surgery on the sequelae of obstructive symptoms of adenotonsillar enlargement.

The study is to identify the cardiovascular complications that could arise from adenotonsillar enlargement, among patients planned for adenotonsillectomy and if surgery could reverse such physiological and anatomical changes/sequelae. The proposal has been written and it’s been reviewed by the other collaborators.

Congenital hearing loss 

The study is to identify the prevalence of new-borns with hearing loss and determine if congenital hearing loss is due to congenital viral infections. The study aimed at creating public awareness, and to advocate for routine immunization against such viral agent(s). The proposal has been written and it’s been reviewed by the other collaborators.
