Biography:

Bosede Ehelamioke Adebayo graduated with an MB;BS from the University of Ibadan in 2000. Her early career started off with a stint as a Medical Officer in the Malaria Research Laboratory of the Institute of Advanced Medical Research and Training by managing children with Malaria during drug trials. Residency in the field of Paediatrics beckoned after that as she commenced her residency training, first in the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Wesley Guild Ilesa, one of the best training centres in the Country before proceeding to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, for completion due to family reasons.

In these Centres for Excellence, the twin Institutions of the University of Ibadan and the University College Hospital in Ibadan, she was opportuned to obtain certificate training in Paediatric Cardiology at the MIOT Hospitals Chennai. On returning, she received a Fellowship from the National Postgraduate Medical College in Paediatrics, a fellowship obtained by research and academic examinations in clinical and theory parts.

Upon completing the fellowship, she became a lecturer in paediatric cardiology at the University of Ibadan. She has experience in conceptualising clinical research to its completion with patient-oriented benefits. These include proposal development with proper ethical procedures, participant recruitment, data entry and analysis. A recipient of the Commonwealth Medical Fellowship, she was trained in Fetal Echocardiography at the University Hospitals Bristol under the team of Drs. Bev Tsai-Goodman and Patricia Caldas. Fetal Echocardiography then debuted in the University College Hospital, Ibadan, with publications documenting the early challenges and successes.

As the Undergraduate Programme Coordinator of the Department of Paediatrics, she coordinates the scheduling, delivery, and maintenance of didactic and clinical lectures. The liaison aspect of her work ensures a safe and supportive learning environment for both students and faculty.
