Construction Activity Reporting Schedule

Site Construction Activities

Block C (Philip Ozuah Block)

Update: The first-floor slab formwork was completed as planned on the work programme. The steel reinforcement placement was completed in anticipation of casting the floor slab. The electrical/mechanical services sleeves placement was completed. The consultant structural engineer gave the floor slab casting approval. 

The procurement of cement an important constituent of concrete was delayed, due to price increases and subsequent scarcity, which poses a challenge to casting the floor slab as scheduled. The casting of the floor slab was delayed for upward of four weeks when the alternative source of the material procurement approval was obtained. The casting of the first-floor slab was eventually completed upon surmounting the challenge of the cement procurement. The raising and casting of the columns to support the second-floor slab has commenced.

The situation with TimeLine: As of the 26th- 30th of March, the raising and casting of the columns to support the second-floor slab has commenced.

Block D (TY Danjuma Block)

Update: The formwork for the ground beam of the foundation was completed. The steel reinforcement placement was completed. The electrical and mechanical services sleeves placement was completed. The consultant structural engineer gave casting approval for the foundation ground beam construction. The ground beam casting was completed as striking off of the formwork commenced. The laterite earth filling has also commenced.

 

The situation with TimeLine: As of the 26th- 30th of March, the striking off of the formwork commenced and the laterite earth filling commenced.

Block F (Alumni Block)

Update: The formwork has been completed. The reinforcement placement has been completed for the ground of the foundation. The electrical and mechanical services work sleeves placement has been done. The consultant structural engineer has approved the casting of the ground beam. The casting of the ground beam has been completed, as the striking off of the formworks commenced. The laterite earth filling and compaction are ongoing.
